The Artist:
The nature of Rachel's work is to create sculptural pieces for a garden or landscape setting using mild steel, willow and other sustainable materials. A graduate of Derby University from the 3D Sustainable Design and Practice program, she has a studio/workshop in Ilkeston, Derbyshire with two other designer/makers to create the collective group 'Shed 2 Studios'. Alongside her commission work is community-based work as a visiting artist and as Artist in Residence for Rethink, teaching and demonstrating a variety of workshops, encouraging the use of sustainable practice.
