RESOURCES » PRESS RELEASES • Feb 2012: Ilkeston sculptor Rachel Carter plans 100 sphere project An Ilkeston based sculptor Rachel Carter has been challenged to create 100 of her signature woven sculptures as part of a four-week-long exhibition at a local gallery. • Sept 2010: University of Derby commission Two top national willow-weaving sculptors, and Derby graduates, who have made their names crafting amazing art pieces across the UK, have teamed up for the first time to create an absorbing new sculpture championing graduate success at the University of Derby. • May 2010: Press Release - Chelsea Flower Show Rachel is celebrating her first Chelsea exhibition by donating the sculptural pieces she has made for the show to a residential home for the elderly. Rachel hopes the Chelsea creation will provide pleasure on a daily basis to the facility’s residents, once installed in July 2010. • Feb 2010: Chelsea Garden Givaway Derbyshire-based artist gives away sculpture to Erewash Care Home. Competition launched to find a home for community-inspired sculpture. Local sustainable artist Rachel Carter is well known for working closely with the Erewash community to develop her work, and now she wants the local community to own her latest creation. • Jan 2010: Working in the Creative Industries Shed 2 Studios is a creative workshop in Derbyshire, which houses Artists, Designers and Makers, established in 2007 by a group of graduates from the 3D Sustainable Design Program at Derby University.
